The city of Suzhou has made every effort to pool the wisdom of overseas talents so as to comprehensively promote the new practice of Chinese path to modernization in Suzhou.
“The thing I am pinching is the core component terminal inside the connector. There are four major international companies monopolizing the market for this product. We have been developing this product since 2019”, He Zhiqi, Chairman of Suzhou Yulian Technology Co., Ltd., said.
At the 2nd Jiangsu Development Conference held in 2019, He Zhiqi signed a contract with Taicang to commercialize the project. Over the past four years, he and his team have been committed to the research and design of core components such as automotive electronics, chassis, and central controller. His team has developed multiple products that have been favored by automotive manufacturers such as SAIC and General Motors before large-scale mass production is being promoted soon.
“Taicang has a very complete automotive industry chain. The governments at all levels in Taicang provide various policies and services for small enterprises. When we signed the contract, the company was very small, with an annual output value of only 3 million yuan. Through four years of development, we expect the output value to exceed 50 million yuan this year”, He Zhiqi, Chairman of Suzhou Yulian Technology Co., Ltd., said.
Also at the second Jiangsu Development Conference, Liu Bin learned that Suzhou attaches great importance to scientific and technological innovation, so he joined hands with the Institute of Semiconductor of the Chinese Academy of Sciences to jointly establish the Suzhou Zhongke Sutuo Optical Communication Research Institute to focus on the development of optical module, the core product in the 5G communication field.
After several years of hard work, Liu Bin led the company's R&D team to break foreign monopolies and build the company into a communication enterprise with core technology, as is evidenced by the emergence of a 30 thousand-square-meter communication industry base in Suzhou.
“The 25G optical module has a huge market demand. It is a massive market. The government has been guiding continuous innovation. In this general atmosphere, we were infected. So last June, we made a decision to manufacture all outsourced products ourselves, in response to the country's call to serve the country with industry”, Liu Bin, Chairman of Sutuo Communication Technology Co., Ltd., said.
Suzhou signed 15 projects at the 2nd Jiangsu Development Conference, totaling 27.86 billion yuan. Statistics show that as of the end of last year, Suzhou recorded 3.63 million talents of various types, including 370 thousand high-level talents and 59 thousand returned students, enabling Suzhou to earn the title of the "most attractive Chinese city in the eyes of foreign experts" for 11 consecutive years.
