Wu Xinming, Party secretary of Nantong in East China's Jiangsu province, met with Ravit Baer, consul-general of Israel in Shanghai, on May 8.
Wu welcomed the consul-general on behalf of Nantong authorities. He gave a brief introduction of the city's economic and social development, and then said that Nantong is blessed with superior geographical location, convenient transportation, a solid economic foundation, and profound culture.
Wu also noted that the city is taking up the opportunities brought about by the integrated development in the Yangtze River Delta to open wider to the outside world and promote high-quality economic and social development.
He expressed his hopes of deep cooperation with Israel in scientific innovation, trade, and culture and that Baer will invite more Israeli entrepreneurs to invest in Wuxi.
Baer thanked Nantong for its contributions to Israel's economic development.
She said that she was impressed by the city's vigorous manufacturing industry and that she hopes to strengthen exchanges and expand areas of cooperation to achieve win-win development.
