East China’s Jiangsu province has stepped up the construction of major investment projects and ensured their smooth progress through every possible effort so as to fulfill goals for social and economic development.
The Wuxi-Jiangyin S1 Line, the first cross regional rail transit line in Wuxi, has launched a hot sliding experiment, marking another step closer to the opening of the Wuxi-Jiangyin S1 line for trial operation.
“Hot sliding refers to the comprehensive stability testing of the power supply system, contact rail track, shield door switch communication system, and vehicle operation of a train during its first live operation on a newly built line,” said Zhang Hongwei, Deputy Chief Engineer of CRRC Xicheng (Wuxi) Urban Rail Transit Engineering Co., Ltd.
The Wuxi-Jiangyin S1 line has a total length of 30.4 kilometers, connecting the Bund of Jiangyin to Yanqiao Town in Huishan District. Upon its completion, the rail track will effectively establish a half-hour commuting circle between Wuxi and Jiangyin, comprehensively promoting the integrated development of Wuxi and Jiangyin.
At the construction site of the Chongming-Qidong Yangtze River Bridge on the Shanghai-Chongqing-Chengdu high-speed railway, workers held welding guns with construction equipment roaring incessantly and sparks splattering in the steel jungle.
The 4.09-kilometer-long Chongming-Qidong Yangtze River Bridge crosses the northern branch channel of the Yangtze River estuary. The upper layer is a two-way six lane first-class highway with a speed of 100 kilometers per hour, and the lower layer is a double track high-speed railway with a speed of 350 kilometers per hour+a double track intercity railway with a speed of 250 kilometers per hour.
This Yangtze River Bridge will play an important role in promoting the integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta, and high-quality development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt.
