Since the beginning of this year, Nanjing Customs has been giving full play to the role of RCEP (Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement) in stabilizing foreign trade and assisting enterprises in accelerating their exploration of international markets. From January to April, the export value of RCEP issued by Nanjing Customs and the Provincial Council for the Promotion of International Trade ranked first in the country.
In the workshop of this Japanese-funded clothing enterprise located in Xiangcheng District, Suzhou, workers are rushing out orders for sportswear sold to Japan. From January to April, enterprises actively utilized the RCEP policy dividend to save $11,000 in taxes for customers and expanded new space for foreign trade business.
“The advantages will become increasingly apparent to sharpen the competitive edge of us companies, compared with last year our orders have increased by some 10%,” said Xu Hui, Deputy General Manager of a clothing company in Xiangcheng District, Suzhou.
“By analyzing some import and export customs declaration data, we are conducting a targeted survey to help them solve problems and let them further enjoy this tariff preference,” said Zhang Biying, Deputy Chief of Comprehensive Business Department Suzhou Customs Office in Xiangcheng.
In order to help enterprises make good use of the RCEP rules, Nanjing Customs and its local customs strengthened policy publicity, provided accurate services, and used the "intelligent audit+self-service printing" intelligent review and signature mode, so that certificate of origin can be submitted and approved immediately, and received without leaving home, further enhancing enterprises' confidence in expanding overseas markets. In the first four months of this year, Nanjing Customs and the CCPIT Jiangsu issued 60,600 RCEP certificates of origin, with a total export value of 16.653 billion yuan, with year-on-year growth of 83.84% and 43.6% respectively. According to estimation, goods can enjoy tariff preference of 256 million yuan in the destination country.
