Organized by iSuzhou, a total of 11 expats in Suzhou, who come from five countries including the US, Iran and Russia, came to Huaqiao Station花桥[地铁站] of Suzhou Rail Transit Line 11 this morning to participate in the test ride of the line.
With a length of 41.25 kilometers and 28 stations, the metro line links Shanghai, Suzhou and Kunshan. Compared with other lines in Suzhou, it's faster and able to carry more passengers.
The stations, incorporating both the modern and traditional elements of Suzhou, are aimed at showcasing the features and style of the city.
“I find them really unique compared to other countries, because they are really modern and stylish. I think they are really convenient and easy to use even for foreigners," said Denis Bodrow from Russia.
Fatemeh Geshani from Iran said, "It was amazing. Especially the screen in the train and in the station. It's so convenient. We can watch and know (information about) this station and next station.”
Suzhou Rail Transit Line 11 is full-automatic and has applied self-driving technologies to up to 120 scenarios.
"There is a conductor on the train, but just standing there. There're no controls. It seems to be all automated. And it's really nice that we get the front view and rear view through the windows," said Evans from the US.
