East China’s Jiangsu province is gearing up for the annual Dragon Boat Festival by displaying a rich variety of intangible cultural heritages to make tourists experience the unique charm of traditional Chinese festivals.
A dragon boat race was held on the millennium ancient Bianhe River in Linhuai Town of Sihong County with 24 teams competing for the 200m and 500m races respectively.
The loud drums shook both sides of the ancient Bianhe River, and the crowd on site also cheered and cheered for the team members. Linhuai Town, surrounded by the lake on three sides, held the dragon boat race to highlight the feelings of the water town, and also create a strong atmosphere of the Dragon Boat Festival.
“We are boat race enthusiasts from the locality. We also experienced the unique charm of traditional festivals and the spirit of dragon boat racing in the strong competition atmosphere,” said a dragon boat race rower.
A night performance was held in Yanhe Ancient Lane of Lianyungang in order to welcome the Dragon Boat Festival. Striking iron flower, a national intangible cultural heritage item, was saved to be the last but the most important show. With the molten iron thrown into the air, the golden sparks flew up and down, pouring down from the night sky like a waterfall, making the show brilliant and spectacular.
