In the first half of the year, Jiangsu reported a stable growth rate in industrial production, an increase in investment in major project construction, and a gradual warming of the consumer market with stable production, improved domestic demand, enhanced quality and efficiency and rebounding confidence.

Nanjing has launched the Yangtze River Cultural Tourism Festival by releasing four themed tourism routes that deeply integrate the cultural heritage of the Yangtze River with tourism products, thereby embarking on a colorful summer trip along the Yangtze River in Nanjing.

During the month-long tourism festival, Nanjing will organize a series of cultural and tourism consumption activities in a bid to further stimulate the vitality of the cultural and tourism market.

“Relying on the ecological conservation of the Yangtze River and the construction of the Yangtze River Cultural Park, we have further explored the characteristics of our cultural and tourism market and the advantages of some resources. We also hope that in this round of tourism market recovery, tourists can have a better understanding of Nanjing”, Xia Jun, Member of the Party Committee and Deputy Director of the Nanjing Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism, said.

Different from previous years, tourists are no longer satisfied with visiting iconic attractions, but prefer personalized, differentiated, and diverse immersive travel experiences.

Various regions in the province have innovated in the supply of characteristic tourism products and expanded tourism consumption scenarios. In the first half of the year, many Chinese traditional festivals with profound cultural contexts, such as the Spring Festival, May Day, and Dragon Boat Festival, were planned in advance to create highly popular cultural and tourism activities, and promote diversified development to form a new engine of tourism economic growth.

In view of the increasing popularity of seaside tours and summer resorts, authorities of many scenic spots and popular attractions in the province have made every effort to explore new experiences, enrich the business types, create interactive projects such as water parks and water worlds, and meet the public's multiple travel needs in a one-stop manner.

Various regions have also adhered to the concept of culture to develop tourism and use tourism as a carrier to spread culture in the hope of promoting the integration of cultural heritage tourism, red tourism, industrial tourism, sports tourism and some other industries to improve quality and efficiency.

Xuzhou has upgraded tourism forms and consumption models by highlighting important elements such as "Han culture, Xuzhou flavor, daily life, and fashion trend", bringing unique cultural and tourism meals to citizens and tourists.

In the first half of the year, the cultural and tourism authorities at all levels in the province made unremitting efforts to strengthen policy support, increase consumer guidance and promotion efforts, and accelerate the development of new forms and models of cultural and tourism consumption such as online broadcasting so as to have created a batch of unique and creative experience projects and gave further play to the "Water Charm Jiangsu", cultural and tourism brand, promoted the protection, inheritance, and innovative development of excellent traditional culture, and injected strong momentum into the acceleration of the recovery of the cultural and tourism market in the province.

The latest statistics show that from January to June, the cultural and tourism market in Jiangsu has shown a strong recovery momentum, with a recovery extent better than that of the entire country. The province received 478 million domestic and foreign tourists, a year-on-year increase of 98.3%, and recorded a total tourism revenue of 610 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 83.5%.

According to UnionPay data, Jiangsu recorded a total cultural and tourism consumption of 252.359 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 31.8%, accounting for 10.2% of the country and ranking first in the country.

“These statistics reflect that the development of the cultural and tourism market in Jiangsu is very effective due to the great attractiveness of tourism products. It has also boosted consumer confidence, indicating that there is still great potential for the development of the tourism economy. Tourism is an industry with strong comprehensive driving force. A person's travel can bring several major aspects of development, including "food, housing, transportation, travel, shopping, and entertainment", which is rich in the "multiplier" effect. Generally, a tourist who consumes one yuan can stimulate a further consumption of six yuan.
