14 provincial-level government departments, including the Provincial Department of Education, the Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology, and the Provincial Department of Civil Affairs, have formulated the "Guiding Opinions on Strengthening Developmental Assistance and Education for Students from Economically Disadvantaged Families in a bid to assist in the comprehensive development of students from economically disadvantaged families.
In recent years, with the continuous improvement and implementation of existing funding policies, Jiangsu has basically ensured that students from economically disadvantaged families do not drop out of school due to poverty. However, due to the limitations of their growth environment, they often experience a lack of care and opportunities, resulting in delayed development or various development problems in terms of physical and mental health, academic level, and some other aspects.
In order to help them grow into talents, Jiangsu will comprehensively coordinate educational resources and forces, explore and improve the development-oriented funding education mechanism, and ensure that the popularization rate of preschool and high school education for economically disadvantaged students is not lower than the overall popularization level through 3-5 years of efforts with the gap significantly reduced between academic level and comprehensive literacy and students of the same age group.
In order to better achieve this goal, Jiangsu will establish an education tutor system by arranging teachers with corresponding expertise and rich experience as tutors, and provide differentiated teaching according to students' personality differences.
