A seminar was held Friday at Duke Kunshan University and Kunshan Huaqiao Arts and Sports Center on internship, employment, and entrepreneurship for youth across the Taiwan Strait.
This event is hosted by the Cross-Strait Entrepreneurs Summit, supported by the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council and the People's Government of Jiangsu Province, with the participation of Jiangsu Broadcasting Corporation and Jiangsu International Communication Center.
The seminar held in Kunshan provides a platform for young entrepreneurs and job seekers in Taiwan and the Chinese mainland to exchange and interact, share experiences, look forward to trends, jointly seek innovation and entrepreneurship opportunities, and help young people achieve their dreams of employment and entrepreneurship.
“I think this seminar is a new stage in which China attaches great importance to talent development during its development process. I think Taiwanese youth can have a lot of opportunities if they can better adapt to such a big environment. The integration between the two sides of the Taiwan Strait can provide more opportunities for Taiwanese youth to participate in the overall development of our country. I call on Taiwanese youth to have a better understanding of China's current development situation because we are now exerting our own influence on the world. As a member of Chinese youth Taiwanese youth cannot be absent,” said Huang Guoshu, President of the Youth Association of Beijing Taiwan-owned Enterprise Association, Executive Vice President of Beijing Xinji Weiye Group.
The event attracted more than 200 young representatives from the Chinese Mainland and Taiwan by inviting well-known entrepreneurs, scholars, and professionals to share and give lectures.
At the "2023 Cross-Strait Youth Employment Promotion Conference", youth representatives from Taiwan held detailed discussions on the latest trends, industry development prospects, skill needs, and entrepreneurial opportunities in the current mainland employment market. They also shared their successful experiences and stories, inspiring the potential and innovative thinking of the young people present. In addition, the participants also conducted cooperation and docking, laying a solid foundation for future employment projects.

This is a good initial soil for young people”, Lin Bosheng, Senior Manager of the General Manager Office of Compal Electronics Industry Co., Ltd., said.

The 2023 Cross Strait Youth Entrepreneurship Smart Sharing Conference provides not only a platform for communication and cooperation but also a wide range of resources and support for participants. Three thematic interactive exchange activities were organized around "internship, employment, and entrepreneurship". Youth from both sides of the Taiwan Strait chose different activities based on their own characteristics and interests. The Chairman of the Cross-Strait Entrepreneurs Summit and various leaders and guests gave expectations and opinions on helping young people from both sides of the Taiwan Strait to practice and start businesses in the Chinese mainland.
The "2023 Cross-Strait Youth Employment Promotion Conference" and "2023 Cross Strait Youth Entrepreneurship Smart Sharing Conference" showcase the vitality and innovation of youth on both sides of the Taiwan Strait, providing a stage for their common growth and development. If young people thrive, the country will prosper, and if young people are strong, the country will be strong.
In the process of exploring the path of national rejuvenation and prosperity for the Chinese nation, young people on both sides of the Taiwan Strait shoulder a mutually important mission. During the two events, the compatriots from Taiwan gained a deeper understanding of the Chinese mainland, while young people from both sides of the Taiwan Strait also established connections, exchanged ideas, and gained valuable experience and knowledge, which will have a positive impact on their personal and professional development.
Since 2015, the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council has established 78 cross-strait youth employment and entrepreneurship bases and demonstration sites, including various platforms such as parks, schools, and entrepreneurship incubators, to assist Taiwanese youth in pursuing their dreams and fulfilling their dreams in the Chinese mainland. Since 2016, Jiangsu has provided internships and employment opportunities for 17,500 Taiwanese youth to help them embark on a new journey.
