Children in east China’s Jiangsu province have been engaged in sports competitions since the start of the summer vacation. Let’s take a close look.
The 2023 Jiangsu Youth Sailing Championships kicked off at the Liyuan Scenic Area in Wuxi City. More than 120 young athletes from all over the province were engaged in competitions to enjoy the joy of summer water sports.
“I think the environment here is particularly beautiful, especially the beautiful lotus flowers”, a contestant, said.
The participants in the sailing competition range from 8 to 19 years old, covering almost all age groups of teenagers. Running until August 2nd, the competition will test the training level of young athletes in the province, and to explore and cultivate outstanding athletes for professional teams.
On Saturday morning, 292 young players from all over the province participated in the 2023 Jiangsu Youth Chess Championships in Jintan District, Changzhou city.
Tang Lexuan, a 12-year-old chess player from the Changzhou City team, has been studying chess for five or six years. This is his fourth time for him to participate in a provincial competition.
“I scored more than ten points, roughly in the top ten, and my performance was decent, as I expected. The layout and movement of each sub in chess are very interesting, so I prefer them”, Tang Lexuan said.
The competition from July 29th to July 31st is divided into six groups based on age, and each group will participate in individual competitions in men’s and women’s groups. The top two players in each group will be qualified for training at the Jiangsu Province Youth Chess Team.
