Jiangsu Ocean University and Astana International University of Kazakhstan held a two-week New Eurasian Continental Bridge int’l talent exchange from July 23 to August 5.
According to the implementation plan of the strategic cooperation agreement signed between Lianyungang City and the Sino-foreign Language Exchange and Cooperation Center of the Ministry of Education, the two sides will promote international Chinese education, talent training and other cooperation projects.
This international talent exchange event is the first important cooperation project implemented under the strategic agreement. 30 students and teachers from 10 universities in 6 countries along "the Belt and Road" participated in the activity.
“We provide international students with courses including learning practical Chinese and intangible cultural heritage project experience, participate in lectures related to ‘the Belt and Road’ and visit natural and cultural attractions, and comprehensively lead students to perceive the unique charm of Languages of China and traditional culture through lectures and practices”, Shen Xin, Vice President of Jiangsu Ocean University, said.
This activity is intended to help Lianyungang to build a strong fulcrum of "the Belt and Road" by focusing on the teaching of Chinese cultural knowledge, and the promotion of the role of Lianyungang’s Silk Road culture, its role as the seagate of the SCO countries and its achievements in "the Belt and Road" construction.
“This is my first time visiting Lianyungang. I think the city is particularly beautiful and clean, and the dormitories are very comfortable”, Nada, Egyptian student, said.
“I hope to learn more about China's oceans, trade, and medicine. I will purchase from China to Malaysia, so I would like to have more knowledge in this field”, a Malasian student, said.
