East China’s Jiangsu province has focused on the construction of 16 advanced manufacturing industry clusters and the cultivation of 50 key industrial chains since the beginning of this year. With independent innovation as the driving force, the province has continuously improved its industrial chain by benefiting from the outstanding performance of new products, new technologies, and new industries and the increase in the proportion of strategic emerging industries and high-tech industries has become a new engine for promoting high-quality development of the province’s industrial economy.
From January to June, the province’s added value of industries above designated size increased by 8.3% year-on-year, an increase of 2.8 percentage points from the first quarter, and an increase of 3.2 percentage points from last year.
In the "Tianshan Victory Tunnel" of Wuwei Highway in Xinjiang, a key project of “the Belt and Road”, the world's first new pressure injection hard rock shield machines "Tianshan" and "Victory" were tunneling at an average daily speed of 30 meters.
The Tianshan Tunnel is currently the longest highway tunnel in the world, and its construction requires crossing 16 geological fault zones, with a maximum ground stress of 218 megapascals, which means nail-sized rocks need to bear a weight of 218 kilograms, making it prone to rock burst. Therefore, traditional shield tunneling machines cannot meet the construction requirements.
The hard rock shield tunneling machine independently developed by CCCC Tianhe allows the equipment to provide sufficient reaction force while driving forward in the fault zone, ensuring that the rock maintains a stable structure.
“As a Chinese, many people would not have believed that we can use Chinese-made equipment to connect the Tianshan Mountains, but we have made it”, Kang Jian, Manager of the Tianshan Project Department of CCCC Tianhe Mechanical Equipment Manufacturing Co., Ltd., said.
This year, CCCC Tianhe has also achieved the localization of the core component "main bearing" of shield tunneling machines, which has helped to reduce the price of shield tunneling machines from several hundred million yuan when they were originally imported to tens of millions of yuan.
Developing from import to national production and then to world innovation, CCCC Tianhe shield tunneling machine is a microcosm of the province’s enterprises' commitment to innovation and continuous breakthroughs in industrial bottlenecks.
This year, the equipment manufacturing industry in Jiangsu has grown by over 9%, contributing over 55% to the province's industrial growth, strongly supporting the stable recovery of the province's industry.
As new technologies and products continue to emerge to promote stable industrial growth, Jiangsu is also continuously optimizing its industrial structure. The latest data shows that since the beginning of this year, strategic emerging industries and high-tech industries have accounted for over 41% and 49% of the province's industries above designated size, a significant increase from the same period of last year.
The photovoltaic, wind power, and new energy vehicle industries have shown explosive growth to become new engines for high-quality development in various regions. Since the beginning of this year, Jiangsu has recorded a growth rate of over 40% for photovoltaic batteries, 140% for charging stations, and 70% for new energy vehicles, respectively, with a growth rate of about 13% for lithium-ion power batteries used in automobiles.
At present, 15% of the leading technologies in the country are distributed in Jiangsu, and one fifth of high-tech product exports come from "Made in Jiangsu". The operating revenue of 16 advanced manufacturing clusters accounts for 70% of the province's manufacturing industry above designated size, ensuring that the high-quality development index of the province’s manufacturing industry ranks first in the country, further consolidating the advantages of the real economy.
