The Shanghai-Nanjing Yangtze River high-speed railway began on Wednesday its one-month trial operation to get ready for its operation in late September.
At 8 o'clock in the morning, the trial operation officially began as the G55301 Fuxing train departed from Nanjing South Station and headed towards Taicang Station along the Shanghai-Nanjing Yangtze River high-speed railway line.
During the trial operation period, tests will be carried out on train operation diagram parameter, as well as fault simulation, emergency rescue drills, and driving tests according to the diagram so as to detect the simulated line operation status, and provide scientific basis for high-speed rail transportation organization, train reception and departure, operating density, and equipment status to ensure the railway's official operation.
Since the start of joint debugging and testing on June 15th, the Shanghai-Nanjing Yangtze River high-speed railway has successively launched testing trains, comprehensive testing trains, and multiple unit high-speed trains, conducting round-trip testing and full line connectivity testing at different speed levels. As of August 15th, a total of 898 test trains of various types have been operated on the Shanghai-Nanjing Yangtze River High Speed Railway, with a total testing mileage of 33309 kilometers with the comprehensive testing train reaching a maximum testing speed of 385 kilometers per hour, completing various joint debugging and testing tasks.
“In the construction of the Shanghai-Nanjing Yangtze River high-speed railway, we have for the first time overcome the key technology that makes it difficult for high-speed rail to cross large water surfaces for communication coverage. We have achieved synchronous construction of highway network communication and high-speed rail, and shared construction of railway private network and 5G public network so as to ensure driving safety and fast and free internet access for passengers”, Luo Cheng, Deputy Manager of the Shanghai-Nanjing Yangtze River high-speed railway project of China Railway Construction Electrification Bureau, said.
The Shanghai-Nanjing Yangtze River high-speed railway starts from Nanjing South railway station in the west and ends at Taicang Railway Station in the east. It connects with the Shanghai Railway Terminal through the Shanghai–Suzhou–Nantong railway. The total length of the line is 279 kilometers, and the design speed is 350 kilometers per hour.
The Shanghai-Nanjing Yangtze River high-speed railway is the backbone line of the intercity rail transit network in the Yangtze River Delta region, and together with the Beijing Shanghai high-speed railway and the Shanghai–Nanjing intercity railway, it forms the high-speed railway artery radiating westward in the Yangtze River Delta region.
