East China’s Jiangsu province recorded a strong recovery momentum in the cultural and tourism market from January to July with its total cultural and tourism consumption leading the country.
Since the beginning of the summer, the Slender West Lake Scenic Area in Yangzhou has been bustling with visitors every day. Tourists from all over the country were busy taking photos and enjoying themselves.
The Slender West Lake Scenic Area has held the first Plum Blossom Art Festival so as to extend the peak tourist season and launched night tours with the aim of attracting more tourists.
“In July, Slender West Lake received 400 thousand tourists during the day, an increase of over 30% compared to 2019 while also received nearly 100000 tourists for night tours”, Guo Zhuoluo, Member of the General Party Branch of Slender West Lake Scenic Area Administration, said.
As of July, Jiangsu had recorded a total tourism revenue of 760 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 79% by receiving 565 million domestic and foreign tourists, a year-on-year increase of 82%.
According to UnionPay business statistics, Jiangsu recorded a total cultural and tourism consumption of 295.96 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 31.4%, accounting for 9.9% of the national total and ranking first in the country.
