571 platform enterprises in east China’s Jiangsu province saw a year-on-year increase of 48.8% in profits in the first half of the year, latest statistics show.
In the livestreaming room of an ecological farm in Kongdang, Banhu Town, Funing County, Wu Suqin, a local anchor, was facing the camera to promote organic agricultural products such as locally grown rice and wheat, and introducing local history and customs so that the audience was so interested that they placed orders right away.
“A livestreaming will generate sales of approximately 30000 to 50000 yuan, and the sales will more than double when crabs and strawberry grapes are marketed”, Wu Suqin, a local livestreaming anchor, said.

According to statistics from the Provincial Development and Reform Commission, in the digital economy sector where the live streaming platform economy is booming, Jiangsu has recorded a significant increase in live streaming sales over GDP growth for 11 consecutive years.
In the first half of the year, 571 live streaming platform enterprises in Jiangsu recorded sales revenue of 376.15 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 3.9%, and a total profit of 13.73 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 48.8%.
At present, Jiangsu is showing a growth momentum in the Internet-based platform economy, with over 80% of enterprises gathering in the southern region of Jiangsu. Nanjing has significant advantages in online shopping, freight logistics, life services, and some other fields. Suzhou is recording rapid development in education and training, animation and entertainment, and Wuxi and Changzhou are actively expanding in industrial internet and some other fields. From an industry perspective, the Internet-based platform enterprises are gathering on segmented tracks such as mobile freight, industrial internet, new energy, and green development.
