East China’s Jiangsu province has introduced 28 policy measures to promote sustained economic recovery and improvement, according to a press conference held on Thursday.
Jiangsu reported continuing rebound and improvement in its economy with accelerated recovery of the market demand and the strengthening of development confidence.
The provincial Party committee and government have proposed 28 specific measures involving more than 120 policy points around the focus of economic work in the second half of the year.
“The present time is a critical period for economic recovery and industrial upgrading. From the perspective of our province, the ‘Several Policy Measures’ focus on expanding effective demand, enhancing development momentum, ensuring and improving people's livelihoods, and optimizing the business environment in a bid to strengthen the supply of policy measures and increase the protection of policies for enterprises”, Shen Jianrong, Director of the Provincial Development and Reform Commission, said.
In terms of expanding effective demand, Jiangsu has introduced 12 policies to boost consumption, expand investment, stabilize the real estate market, and stabilize the basic level of foreign trade by issuing policies that include adding provincial-level special funds to subsidize the purchase of green and energy-saving household appliances, encouraging various regions to distribute consumer coupons, digital e-currency red envelopes, and cash subsidies, further expanding the scope of private investment, and establishing strategic emerging industry fund groups.
In terms of optimizing the business environment, Jiangsu will step up its efforts to reduce taxes and fees, strengthen support for small and medium-sized enterprises, increase land use support, standardize enterprise fees, and support talent introduction to better serve the development of the private economy.
