General Secretary Xi Jinping's letter to representatives of outstanding teachers sparked heated discussions among teachers in east China’s Jiangsu province. On behalf of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, Xi Jinping extended festive greetings and best wishes to the outstanding teachers and all those working in the education sector across the country on the 39th Teachers' Day.
A unique event was held at the Tao Xingzhi Memorial Hall in Nanjing Sunday morning. Representatives of exemplary educators, outstanding young teachers, and students majoring in teacher education in Nanjing jointly studied General Secretary Xi Jinping's letter to representatives of outstanding teachers across the country to review the oath of being people's teachers.
The participants said that they will actively respond to the General Secretary's call, follow the example of educators such as Tao Xingzhi on the new journey, vigorously promote the spirit of educators, bear in mind the founding mission of educating people for the Party and the country, and make more contributions to accelerating the construction of an educational power and realizing the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.
“The General Secretary emphasized in his letter the need to vigorously promote the spirit of educators. As a rural teacher, I have a strong resonance in my heart and am greatly encouraged. In the future, we will continue to make our own positive contributions on the path of strengthening education, especially in revitalizing rural education”, Yang Ruiqing, General Principal of Xingzhi Education Group in Pukou District, Nanjing City, said.
“In the General Secretary's letter, he mentioned the educational wisdom of ‘enlightening the mind, nourishing the heart, and teaching students according to their aptitude’. I think this sentence is particularly important for us in the new era of normal school students. I will learn the teaching methods and concepts of excellent educators and teachers, integrate them into my own educational methods, and let different children have their own different stages to better showcase their talent for love”, Du Muyu, a senior student at the School of Teacher Education at Nanjing Xiaozhuang University, said.
General Secretary Xi Jinping's letter has made educators from all over the province feel warm and confident. Everyone expressed that they will live up to the General Secretary's instructions, firmly establish their aspirations, and cultivate more pillars of virtue and talent for the construction of a strong country and the great cause of national rejuvenation.
