The 10th China Fair Competition Policy International Forum and National Fair Competition Conference were held in Nanjing on Monday under the joint sponsorship of the State Administration for Market Regulation and the People's Government of Jiangsu Province. The 2023 China Fair Competition Policy Promotion Week was launched simultaneously. Luo Wen, Director of the State Administration for Market Regulation, and Xu Kunlin, Governor of Jiangsu Province, attended and delivered a speech at the launch ceremony of the 2023 China Fair Competition Policy Promotion Week.
Xu Kunlin said that the Party Central Committee, with Comrade Xi Jinping as its core, has attached great importance to protecting and promoting fair competition by making a series of major decisions and deployments to strengthen the fundamental position of fair competition policies.
Noting that Jiangsu is a promoter and beneficiary of fair competition, the governor said in recent years, with the implementation of strengthened fair competition policies, the province has protected the business environment and unified the construction of a large market, striving to create the world's most attractive and competitive investment destination for four consecutive years by being awarded the title of "Province with the Best Business Environment".
Xu Kunlin said that embarking on a new journey, Jiangsu will spare no effort to learn and implement the important speech made by General Secretary Xi Jinping on Jiangsu's work, take this forum as an opportunity, focus on ensuring high-level technological self-reliance, build a new development pattern through services, shape new advantages of an open economy, create high-quality life, implement fair competition policies, focus on protecting fair market competition, and provide a more stable, fair, transparent, and predictable business environment for various business entities.
Luo Wen said that in recent years, under the strong leadership of the Party Central Committee and the State Council, China has made significant achievements in fair competition governance by continuously improving the fair competition system, and steadily improving the order of fair competition so that the concept of fair competition is deeply rooted in people’s awareness and institutional openness in the field of competition is continuously expanding.
He said that holding the 2023 China Fair Competition Policy Promotion Week, vigorously cultivating and promoting a culture of fair competition, plays an important role in guiding the formation of a good trend of fair competition in the whole society, promoting the effective improvement of quality and reasonable growth of the economy.
Luo Wen demanded that Jiangsu adhere to the Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, make every effort to implement the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, strengthen and improve competition supervision and law enforcement, promote the basic position of fair competition policies, boost economic circulation through fair competition, enhance market vitality, strengthen innovation incentives, promote market connectivity and the acceleration of the construction of a unified national market, help build a new development pattern, and better serve high-quality development.
Gan Lin, Deputy Director of the State Administration for Market Regulation and Director of the National Anti-Monopoly Administration, presided over the launch ceremony. Among the leaders present at the opening ceremony were Vice Governor Hu Guangjie, Mayor of Nanjing Chen Zhichang, and Secretary General of the Provincial Government Lv Deming.
