East China’s Jiangsu province recorded a record high volume in August in the number of freight trains operated on the China-Europe and Asia railway. JSBC has the story.
From January to August, Jiangsu operated 1504 freight trains on the China-Europe and Asia railway, up 13.8% year on year. In August alone, the province reported 214 freight trains operated on the China-Europe and Asia railway. Lianyungang operated 91 trains in August, setting a record high on a monthly basis since 2015.
In recent years, China Railway Jiangsu Express has vigorously promoted the construction of railway freight channels by continuously consolidating the advantages of the westward freight channels, improving the service quality of the eastern and central channels, cultivating the capacity of the southward railway freight channels, and continuously opening up new freight train routes in accordance with the overall idea of "consolidating Central Europe and Central Asia, and expanding Southeast Asia".
As of now, Jiangsu has stably operated 24 China-Europe-Asia train routes, connecting nearly 80 international destinations in Europe, Central Asia, and Southeast Asia, coming up with a series of influential brand lines, including the new Asia Europe land-sea transportation channel with Lianyungang as the bridgehead, the rough trip route from Nanjing, Xuzhou and Suzhou to Russia, and China-Laos international freight train from Nanjing to Vientiane.
