The first continuous beam of the Dafeng Port Railway Branch Project was connected Thursday morning. JSBC has the story.
At the construction site of the Dafeng Port Railway Branch, construction workers stayed up late to install the continuous beams of the super-large bridge.
As the last concrete was poured into the mold, the continuous beams of the 6503.89 meter-long super large bridge were connected.
“With a total length of 112 meters that crosses a total of 3 spans and 27 segments, the continuous beam is constructed using the suspension pouring method in 10 months since the start of construction, laying a solid foundation for subsequent installation and paving the way for the entire construction by the end of 2024”, Zhang Lei, Deputy Manager of Dafenggang Railway Branch Project of China Railway Electrification Bureau, said.
85.25% of the 50.69-kilometer-long Dafeng Port Railway Branch Line consists of bridges. Upon its opening, this project can increase the throughput of Dafeng Port by 5 to 10 million tons, which will play a crucial role in improving the port's collection and distribution system and promoting the development of the country’s central and western regions.
