Museums across Jiangsu province have been upgraded for the tourism upsurge during the upcoming Mid-Autumn Festival holiday and the National Day holiday. Let’s take a close look.
The Nanjing Jiangning Textile Weaving Museum, in collaboration with the Suzhou Silk Museum and the Shanghai Film Museum, jointly launched on Tuesday an exhibition on "Four Seasons of the Dream of the Red Chamber - Literature, Images, and Silk in the Jiangnan Canal".
The exhibition is arranged around the four seasons, and as visitors walk through the exhibition hall, they seem to have traveled through the scenarios of spring, summer, autumn, and winter depicted in the famous literary work the "Dream of the Red Chamber". The exhibition is magnificent by cleverly connecting the text in the famous work, cultural relics in the museum, and images on the screen so as to allow the audience to explore the wonderful origins of the "Dream of the Red Chamber" and the canals in the south of the Yangtze River.
The exhibition will showcase over 70 sets of exquisite cultural relics and image materials, including selected clothing and satin items with patterns, craftsmanship, and shapes similar to the original work in the "Dream of the Red Chamber" in the collections of Jiangning Weaving Museum and Suzhou Silk Museum. Multiple exquisite cultural relics were exhibited for the first time.
This exhibition also features a matrix of "Imagery of the Red Chamber" by showcasing over thirty posters, paintings, and collectibles from different periods related to the opera, film, and stage play of the "Dream of the Red Chamber".
This exhibition will continue until November 19th.
