East China’s Jiangsu province has stepped up the construction of major investment projects and ensured their smooth progress through every possible effort so as to fulfill goals for social and economic development. 

Rows of container-like white energy storage tanks are very eye-catching at the site of the Jiangsu Fengchu Shared Energy Storage Project located in Yangkou Town, Rudong County.

The energy storage equipment of this project adopts a prefabricated compartment layout, and the lithium iron phosphate batteries are divided into 8 energy storage subsystems, with a total of 80 sets of energy storage units. By utilizing the characteristics of electrochemical energy storage, they can participate in peak shaving operation of the power grid, assist in peak shaving and valley filling, and increase energy efficiency.

“Compared to traditional gravity energy storage, the utilization efficiency of pumped storage power stations can reach 90%, and their reaction speed is also faster. They can release electricity into the grid in the first time, quickly meeting the electricity needs of users,” said Liang Xiao, Professional Supervision Engineer of Nantong Electric Power Design Institute Co., Ltd. Shared energy storage "refers to breaking the traditional" one-to-one "correspondence between energy storage stations and power stations, and shifting to the" one-to-N "relationship, which is equivalent to a giant shared" power bank ", charging and storing energy during valley hours and discharging during peak hours for peak shaving.

The shared energy storage project has a total investment of 1 billion yuan and is the first shared energy storage station in East China and the largest electrochemical energy storage station in Jiangsu Province. With grid connection, the annual online discharge capacity will reach 120 million kilowatt hours, which can achieve two charges and two discharges per day, with a single discharge capacity of approximately 360000 kilowatt hours. At present, the project construction has been basically completed with comprehensive grid connection scheduled for the end of October.

The second section of the upper section of the Kuihe River Comprehensive Renovation Project in Xuzhou has recently been completed, marking the project’s entire completion.

The flowing water and stone and wood complement each other, forming a miniature version of the garden. The newly built slope protection is simple and atmospheric, and the reshaped river channel is also fresh and clean.

In the meantime, the relief walls and large ground sculptures created around history allow citizens to fully "touch" the city’s cultural memory, further bringing people closer to the river.
