East China’s Jiangsu province has recently issued implementation opinions on accelerating the high-quality development of e-commerce for agricultural products with a view to further promoting the smooth connection between agricultural product production and sales, cultivate new driving forces for the agricultural digital economy and assist in the development of rural industries.
Based on the demand for green and high-quality consumption, Jiangsu will create a characteristic and high-quality agricultural product industry chain, encourage new agricultural business entities to promote the application of high-quality new varieties, actively use new technologies and equipment, and improve the standardization, precision, green, and intelligent production level of agricultural products.
Jiangsu will also encourage agricultural enterprises to reasonably introduce, update, and innovate the application of post-production initial processing and deep processing facilities and equipment to enhance the added value of agricultural products.
In terms of improving infrastructure and circulation network, Jiangsu will promote the construction of agricultural product refrigeration and preservation facilities and rural delivery logistics systems, support the construction of agricultural product cold chain logistics bases in various regions based on large agricultural product origin markets, agricultural product trading centers, and build a full process cold chain logistics system covering agricultural product production, processing, transportation, storage, and sales.
Jiangsu will also increase the layout of postal and express delivery enterprises in agricultural product production and sales centers, distribution centers, and wholesale markets so as to provide personalized and low-cost delivery services for agricultural products from villages to cities.
Jiangsu will also actively develop new formats such as live streaming e-commerce, social e-commerce, and community group buying, and carry out e-commerce training for agricultural products through multiple channels to open up sales and expand the market for local agricultural products so as to strive to achieve significant results in the digital transformation of agricultural production and operation in various regions by 2025, with the province's agricultural product network sales exceeding 160 billion yuan.
