Ma Xin, a member of the Standing Committee of the Jiangsu Provincial Committee and Executive Vice Governor, witnessed on Wednesday the signing of two cooperation projects between Jiangsu and the United Arab Emirates alongside with Li Chunlin, Deputy Director of the National Development and Reform Commission, and Muhannad Naqbi, Consul General of the United Arab Emirates in Shanghai, at the National Convention Center. Ma Xin was in Beijing to attend the opening ceremony of the third Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation and the High-level Forum on Connectivity in Beijing.
Jiangsu Overseas Cooperative Investment Co., Ltd., Abu Dhabi Port Company in the United Arab Emirates, and Trina Solar Energy Co., Ltd. jointly signed a memorandum of understanding on Trina Solar's cooperation in the UAE project. The three parties will deepen cooperation in project site selection, financing, and infrastructure support, and jointly promote the investment and construction of Trina Solar's overseas zero carbon new energy industrial park in the UAE Capacity Cooperation Demonstration Park and the Halifa Economic Zone in China.
Jiangsu Overseas Cooperative Investment Co., Ltd. also signed a memorandum of understanding on Sino Arab equity cooperation with Abu Dhabi Port Company. The UAE Capacity Cooperation Demonstration Park is a major cooperation project between the two countries and China’s first "the Belt and Road" capacity cooperation park.
At the signing meeting, Lianyungang Port Holding Group signed a project cooperation agreement with Kazakhstan National Railway Company on the joint development of the "Asia Pacific countries China Kazakhstan" route, cooperate in the construction of the Aktau Port container hub in Kazakhstan, develop multimodal transportation across the Caspian Sea, reduce transportation time and costs, improve transportation efficiency, and promote the continuous and in-depth development of China Europe freight trains.
China Kazakhstan Lianyungang Logistics Cooperation Base is the first physical project of "the Belt and Road" initiative launched in China, echoing with the Khorgos East Gate Dry Port in Kazakhstan, and jointly forming a double hub on the new Eurasian land sea intermodal transport corridor.
