The 3rd China-Central and Eastern European Library Alliance Director Forum was held in Nanjing on Sunday.More than 150 directors, experts, and scholars from public libraries in Central and Eastern European countries, as well as provincial and municipal public libraries from China, gathered to explore new directions for the future high-quality development of the industry. The theme of this forum is "Sharing, Progress, and Win Win". Experts and scholars discussed sub-topics such as characteristic literature and innovation promotion, diverse library services and their limits, ancient book protection and creative utilization, in an attempt to promote communication and development of the library industry between China and Central and Eastern European countries.

Dragana Milunovic, Deputy Director of the Serbian National Library, said that she was happy to be able to attend the forum, which was a major event in the public library industry, and she was willing to take this opportunity to usher in better development prospects in larger scale, higher level, and deeper international cooperation.

This year marks the fifth anniversary of the establishment of the "China-Central and Eastern European Library Alliance". Over the past five years, the member libraries of the alliance have sincerely cooperated and enhanced friendship, making significant progress in data sharing, literature exchange, personnel exchange, publicity and promotion. The alliance now has 60 member libraries, including 26 in China and 34 in Central and Eastern Europe.

This forum will facilitate exchanges, mutual learning, and high-quality development between China and Central and Eastern European countries in the field of libraries, gathering more wisdom and stronger strength.

In the future, we will give full play to the role of the National Library Alliance as a platform to accelerate personnel exchanges, work exchanges, and book exchanges between China and Central and Eastern European countries in a bid to promote the high-quality development of public libraries, Chen Jun, Director of Nanjing Library, said.

According to Liu Dong, Secretary General of the Secretariat of the China Central and Eastern European Library Alliance and Secretary of the Party Committee and Director of the Hangzhou Library, by showcasing valuable literature from various libraries, they can enhance our readers' understanding and identification with the history and culture of various countries.
