The high-quality agricultural products from Jiangyan district, Taizhou city, represented by "Qinhu Crab", began to be promoted in Yangpu District, Shanghai, on the afternoon of October 20th at the opening ceremony of the 2023 Crab and Food Tourism Season and the launch ceremony of Jiangyan Food Shanghai Exchange and Promotion Week.
Themed in "Exploring Taizhou Food in Jiangyan", this event adopted various forms such as cultural and tourism promotion, roadshow interaction, and blind box market in a bid to further enhance the popularity and influence of Taizhou food products, and attract citizens and tourists to experience Taizhou food through tourism.
Sheng Yuhe, a member of the Standing Committee of the District Committee and Executive Vice District Mayor, said in his speech that in recent years, Jiangyan has vigorously implemented the tourism strategy, established the brand of hairy crab tourism, produced a comprehensive tourism development pattern, and become the preferred destination for many tourists.
Jiangyan has always regarded Shanghai as the most important source of tourists by focusing on tourists' travel needs and experiences to design diversified and personalized travel products and routes, and inviting Shanghai citizens to visit wetlands, ancient towns, and eat crabs in Jiangyan.
Six local travel agencies in Shanghai signed contracts with the Jiangyan Municipal Tourism Association and released the "Tasting Taizhou" water town crab tourism season to promote tourism product routes, Jiangyan food promotional videos, food maps.
Dong Pingping, the inheritor of intangible cultural heritage morning tea, introduced Jiangyan's unique cuisine on site. The stage play "Qinhu Eight Fresh Banquet" comprehensively showcased the unique features of Qinhu Eight Fresh Food. Shanghai tourism expert Niu Yan shared Taizhou's tourism strategy products and led the audience to explore the "Happy Taizhou" tip of the tongue journey.
The food court set up on site allowed citizens and tourists to taste characteristic dishes such as Taizhou morning tea, Qinhu crab, crab roe buns, and fish balls and fish cakes.
