East China’s Jiangsu province has rolled out an action plan to promote high-quality development of cross-border e-commerce, according to Action Plan for Promoting the High-Quality Development of Cross border E-commerce between 2023 and 2025 released recently by provincial departments.
According to the action plan, by 2025, Jiangsu will make significant breakthroughs in cross-border e-commerce in terms of industrial agglomeration, subject cultivation, and service system construction by creating more than 30 cross-border e-commerce characteristic industrial belts, building more than 120 cross-border e-commerce industrial parks, cultivating more than 600 industry-leading and internationally competitive cross-border e-commerce enterprises, and focusing on cultivating more than 100 public overseas warehouses, developing over 100 cross-border e-commerce export brands with certain international influence so as to ensure the cultivation and introduction of a group of professional service providers, continuously improve the development ecology of cross-border e-commerce, and significantly enhance the contribution of cross-border e-commerce to the province's foreign trade.
To ensure the better achievement of the above goals, Jiangsu plans to list 16 key tasks, including cultivating the ecology of cross-border e-commerce industry, cultivating and strengthening cross-border e-commerce entities, innovating cross-border e-commerce export business models, and improving the international logistics service system.
In terms of promoting the integrated development of "industrial belt+cross-border e-commerce", Jiangsu will focus on advantageous industrial clusters and foreign trade transformation and upgrading bases such as new energy, automotive parts, light industry and textile, mechanical equipment, smart home appliances, building materials and home furnishings, establish cooperation platforms, and promote traditional manufacturing enterprises to strengthen their overseas presence.
Jiangsu will also actively encourage eligible cross-border e-commerce enterprises to apply for national high-tech enterprises or technologically advanced service enterprises and establish 500 cross-border e-commerce high-tech enterprises overseas by 2025.
