East China’s Jiangsu province has stepped up the construction of major investment projects and ensured their smooth progress through every possible effort so as to fulfill goals for carbon peaking and carbon neutrality.
The Lianyungang-based Shenghong Chemical New Materials Project has completed more than half of its underground construction.
Nearly 5000 workers are currently installing steel structures, equipment, and process pipelines to ensure that 60% of the total project will be completed by the end of this year.
“The POSM project we are currently promoting includes an epoxy propane plant and a styrene plant with 5 sets of EVA ethylene vinyl acetate copolymers. The final goal is to build 1.05 million tons of ethylene vinyl acetate copolymers to ensure the EVA device will reach the level of a world-class production base,” Hou Tiecheng, Manager of the Engineering Department of Shenghong Chemical New Materials Project, said.
This project will promote the vertical extension of Shenghong Petrochemical's industrial chain and enter new fields such as high-end packaging materials. When all EVA devices are put into operation, Shenghong Petrochemical will reach a total annual production capacity of 1.05 million tons, with an annual output value of 8 billion yuan, ranking first in the world and further promoting Lianyungang to become a strong support point for the new materials industry.
The construction team recently connected the main bridge of the Hongze Lake Flood Detention Area Grand Bridge in the Suqian-Sihong section of the Yancheng-Luoyang Expressway.
“Its connection marks the full connection of the main line project laying a solid foundation for the next step of road construction and safety engineering construction along the entire line and laying a solid foundation for the opening of traffic next year,” Zhang Aijun, Head of the Office for Suqian-Sihong Section of the Yancheng-Luoyang Expressway, said.
