The Yangtze River Delta Ecological and Green Integrated Development Demonstration Zone has showcased a new picture of high-quality development since its founding in 2019 by promoting green ecology, industrial innovation, and the interconnection of various contents. Let’s take a close look.
At the junction of Shanghai, Jiangsu, and Zhejiang, the Fangting Water Institute, the first construction project in China that spans three provincial-level administrative regions, has completed partial foundation pile construction.
The comprehensive energy system equipped in this project will be widely used in multiple scenarios such as industrial parks, commercial complexes, and data centers in the future.
“Through coordination, communication, and consultation mechanisms, including institutional arrangements, we have made significant progress in approval, ensuring that construction can begin after the land is allocated. I think the role of demonstration is quite significant,” said Zhu Yiyuan, General Manager of New Development Construction Co., Ltd. in the Yangtze River Delta Integration Demonstration Zone.
In 2020, Qingpu District of Shanghai and Wujiang District of Suzhou launched the construction of Yuandang Lake embankment standards and shoreline ecological restoration projects. At present, the restoration project has entered the third phase, becoming the first cross-border lake waterfront ecological restoration project in the demonstration area.
“We built an underwater forest within 50 meters of our lakeside shoreline. In the next step, we will gradually introduce ecology+sports, ecology+culture, ecology+industry,” said Lu Xiaofeng, Deputy Director of the Qingpu District Water Bureau in Shanghai.
In Wujiang District, Suzhou, the Hengli Yangtze River Delta International New Materials Industry Base is operating at full speed with various specifications of film products ready to be shipped.
As a major project in the province, the investment scale, technical level, and production capacity of this project have all reached the highest level of single project construction in the industry.
“Among the 12 units in the first phase of the project, 6 units have already been put into operation for trial operation. They will be fully put into trial operation by the first quarter of next year,” said Ju Jinhu, Deputy General Manager of Jiangsu Kanghui New Materials Technology Co., Ltd.
The Yangtze River Delta Integration Demonstration Zone has a total of over 2900 high-tech enterprises, 2370 technology-based small and medium-sized enterprises, and 6 listed enterprises on the Science and Technology Innovation Board, enabling it to form four industries with an annual output value of 100 billion yuan, including equipment manufacturing, textile and clothing, new materials, and electronic information, as well as three major industries with an annual output value of 10 billion yuan, including energy conservation and environmental protection, new energy, and biopharmaceuticals.
