East China’s Jiangsu province has released the "Three Year Action Plan for the Development of the Metaverse Industry in Jiangsu Province" in a bid to become a national leader in the application level of industrial metaverse by 2026 and a highland for the integration, innovation and development of metaverse industries.
According to the Action Plan, by 2026, Jiangsu will record an annual output value of 100 billion yuan in the metaverse industry, with an average annual growth rate of over 20%.
Jiangsu will focus on the new system and accelerate the deep application of metaverse technologies such as XR and digital twins in key industrial processes by promoting intelligent workshops and factories and real-time access to various perceptual data so as to achieve virtual real collaboration, promote virtual reality, and create a benchmark for the integrated application of industrial metaverse at the workshop and factory levels.
Jiangsu will also target the forefront and evolution direction of metaverse technology to address new issues, promote integrated innovation of key technologies in key areas, organize collaborative research and development around key metaverse fields such as close eye display, perceptual interaction, and digital twins, and proactively layout key technology research and development.
By focusing on the new track, Jiangsu will improve its cyberspace infrastructure, strengthen its computing power infrastructure, optimize its industrial ecology, and continuously meet the development needs of Jiangsu's metaverse industry.
By 2026, Jiangsu will have attracted and cultivated 5 ecological leading enterprises, created 20 specialized, refined, and innovative enterprises in segmented fields, and 100 integrated application enterprises in a bid to create a national level metaverse innovation and application pilot zone. Jiangsu will further enhance the core competitiveness of the metaverse industry in the province, better the industrial ecology, and improve the public service system.
