East China’s Jiangsu province and the General Administration of Customs signed a memorandum of cooperation in Nanjing on Thursday. Xin Changxing, Secretary of Jiangsu Provincial Party Committee and Xu Kunlin, Governor of Jiangsu, met with Yu Jianhua, Commissioner of the General Administration of Customs.
On behalf of the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial Government, Xin Changxing and Xu Kunlin thanked the General Administration of Customs for its long-term strong support for the development of Jiangsu.
Xin Changxing said that since the beginning of this year, Jiangsu has adhered to promoting reform and high-quality development through high-level opening up to the outside world, continued to create a first-class business environment, and made every effort to stabilize foreign trade and foreign investment so that the open economy has shown a good trend of steady progress and improvement in quality.
He hoped that the signing of this cooperation memorandum will serve as an opportunity for both sides to further deepen communication and cooperation in areas such as unblocking open channels, improving platform capabilities, supporting the development of emerging industries, and promoting trade facilitation, in order to jointly serve the overall development of the country. Jiangsu will create better conditions to support Nanjing Customs in fulfilling its duties and assist in the high-quality development of the customs.
Yu Jianhua thanked the Jiangsu Provincial Party Committee and Government for their concern and support for the work of the General Administration of Customs. He stated that Jiangsu is a major economic and open province, with its foreign trade and foreign investment ranking among the top in the country for many consecutive years.
The General Administration of Customs will continue to deepen practical cooperation with Jiangsu, actively carry out major reform and innovation, pilot a new model of customs supervision, jointly promote the construction of smart customs and smart ports, rely on scientific and technological innovation, institutional innovation, optimize the port business environment, and help Jiangsu to take the lead and make demonstration in promoting the Chinese path to modernization.
