East China’s Jiangsu province has strengthened the implementation of employment priority policies and coordinated the promotion of stable employment since the beginning of this year so that the province reported an overall stable employment situation, with the number of new urban employment in the first three quarters ranking among the top in the country.
Statistics show that in the first three quarters, Jiangsu recorded 1.0323 million new urban employment, accounting for over 1/10 of the national total, with a year-on-year increase of 4.4%.
From January to September, the provincial employment public service platform released 4.4291 million job vacancies, serving 3.4214 million job seekers, with a year-on-year increase of over 14%.
Since the beginning of autumn, Changzhou has organized 260 enterprises to provide over 13000 job vacancies in response to the local demand for talent in the new energy industry by holding job fairs at Jiangsu Institute of Technology. State owned enterprises in Xuzhou provided over 220 high-quality job vacancies by holding job fairs at local universities. Kunshan held a job fair for Taiwanese-funded companies, attracting numerous job seekers from both inside and outside the province.
“Changzhou has a relatively complete new energy industry chain and many opportunities to choose from,” said Liu Yuchen, 2024 graduate of Jiangsu Institute of Technology.
Since the beginning of this year, Jiangsu has allocated nearly 14 billion yuan in stable job subsidies and one-time job expansion subsidies, and issued 63.3 billion yuan in job loans in a bid to provide support to enterprise recruitment efforts. At the end of September, Jiangsu reported a total of 20.8722 million employees, up 130900 from the same period last year.
“At present, our company has over 300 employees, and the human resources and social security department has provided us with a one-time expansion subsidy, greatly reducing the cost pressure of our operations,” said Qiao Jingjing, Director of the Human Resources Department of Jiangsu Tianchuang Technology Co., Ltd.
Jiangsu also provides real name assistance to 93700 unemployed college graduates, with 66800 employed as of the end of September. Meanwhile, Jiangsu recorded 24.926 million migrant workers at the end of September, an increase of 634000 from the same period of last year.
