Yicai.cn released a ranking in terms of the number of domestically listed companies a city boasted as of the last trading day of the third quarter of this year (September 28). The ranking is based on data from three major stock exchanges in Chinese mainland.
It found that Beijing, Shanghai and Shenzhen have more than 400 domestic listed companies, forming the first echelon; Hangzhou, Suzhou with a number at more than 200 each, forming the second echelon; and Guangzhou, Nanjing, Wuxi, Ningbo and Chengdu have more than 100 listed companies respectively, creating the third echelon.
