Xu Kunlin, governor of Jiangsu province, met Thursday afternoon in Nanjing with Sir Sherard Cowper-Coles, chair of the China-Britain Business Council.
Xu Kunlin welcomed Sir Sherard Cowper-Coles' visit to Jiangsu and expressed his gratitude to the China-Britain Business Council for its contribution to economic and trade cooperation between Jiangsu and the UK.
Noting that the UK is an important economic and trade partner of Jiangsu, Xu Kunlin said a large number of British-funded enterprises have seized Jiangsu’s development opportunities, increased investment and expanded production capacity, and achieved mutual benefits and achievements.
He hoped that the China-Britain Business Council will continue to play the role of a bridge and link, build a high-quality platform for the cooperation of enterprises between the two countries, promote more British-funded enterprises to expand their investment and business layout in Jiangsu, deepen exchanges and cooperation between the two sides in fields such as technological innovation, financial services, green energy, and digital economy, continuously achieve more win-win results, and jointly contribute to the healthy and stable development of China-UK relations.
Jiangsu will spare no effort to provide broader space and more efficient services for the development of foreign enterprises in the province.
Sir Sherard Cowper-Coles said that Jiangsu has a strong economic strength, good momentum, and abundant vitality. The China-Britain Business Council will give further play to its advantages to convey Jiangsu's development opportunities and positive signals of highly valuing foreign investment to its member enterprises, promote more British-funded enterprises to invest and start business in Jiangsu, share development opportunities and achievements, and help push the UK-China trade cooperation to a new level.
