East China’s Jiangsu reported a continued upward trend in industrial operation by actively responding to risks and challenges, developing new products, expanding the scale of emerging industries and integrating into the domestic and international dual circulation so as to achieve the annual industrial growth targets.
The latest industrial operation analysis released by the Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology shows that from January to October, the province’s industrial sector above designated size recorded a year-on-year increase of 7.4% in added value, 0.2 percentage points faster than the previous three quarters, with an increase of 8.9% in October alone.
The industrial growth rate has significantly accelerated, with 13 prefecture level cities reporting positive growth in industrial added value.
In October, the manufacturing industry represented by computers, communication and other electronic equipment, electrical machinery and equipment, chemical raw materials and chemical products increased by 10.3%, 17%, and 13.9% year-on-year, respectively, achieving double-digit rapid growth. The railway and shipbuilding industry saw a year-on-year growth of 27.6%, an increase of 15.5 percentage points from September.
In the Yancheng National High-tech Zone, Yancheng Weixin Electronics Co., Ltd. has introduced an intelligent system to quickly operate its automatic equipment so that the core components of integrated circuits, flexible circuit boards, are continuously rolling off the production line.
The electronic information industry in Yancheng has become an emerging growth pole in Jiangsu's electronic information industry with an average annual growth rate of 80% in recent years. Yancheng High-tech Zone alone has four national champions in industries such as LED packaging, 5G filters, and MiniLED backlight, including Weixin's flexible circuit board.
“We are committed to building a new highland in the electronic information industry by focusing on leading the industry, strengthening the chain, gathering clusters so as to promote the development of the electronic information industry from scratch to being a powerhouse. We have gathered more than 130 upstream and downstream projects, and built a full industry chain from core components to brand machines, from hardware production to software research and development, forming an economic cycle pattern of nearby supporting facilities and complementary resources in the park,” said Tang Kun, Deputy Director of Yancheng National High-tech Zone.
Driven by new growth poles and the recovery of the consumer electronics market, Jiangsu recorded a revenue of 3.4 trillion yuan in electronic information product manufacturing from January to October, accounting for one-fifth of the national total.
