Since the beginning of this year, Changzhou-based Honeycomb Energy Technology Co., Ltd. has released multiple industry-leading new battery products, including the world's first cobalt free material battery.
As the heart of new energy vehicles, this battery has sparked market demand due to its core advantages of high safety, high energy density, high cycle life, and low cost. The company has attributed its new products to the meticulous layout of the local government on the new energy track.
“Changzhou has a relatively convenient power battery industry chain and obvious geographical advantages. Its policy support is also conducive to industrial development, so we are adept at conducting research and development here,” said Wang Gang, Senior Director of the High-tech Department of Honeycomb Energy Technology Co., Ltd.
Thanks to Jiangsu's promotion of the full industry chain layout and the creation of the largest power battery production base in the country, four of the top ten global power battery installed capacity leading enterprises have settled in Changzhou.
Since the beginning of this year, Jiangsu has introduced a series of policies by focusing on 16 advanced manufacturing clusters, 50 industrial chains, and the "10+X" future industrial system. It has also implemented 27 actions to strengthen, supplement, and extend industrial chains in a bid to promoted the leap of industries towards the mid-to-high end and seize the commanding heights of future industries.
The Purple Mountain Laboratories has released the world's first wireless endogenous security chip by achieving a breakthrough in signal level security protection measures in the air interface of base stations, with a secure communication rate of over 1Gb, greatly enhancing the security capability of mobile communication networks. The world's first simulated scheduler chip and wireless endogenous security chip have been released simultaneously.
“The development of independent and controllable chip industry chain has been our goal since the beginning. These two chips are both designed and manufactured based on domestic production lines, domestic IPs, and domestic CPU cores, and are the basic structural chips of the endogenous security industry. Integrating these two chips into our wired and wireless transmission equipment can greatly improve the security and reliability of the entire communication network,” said Li Yu, Deputy Director of the Endogenous Safety Center of Purple Mountain Laboratories.
The lack of key core technologies is an important obstacle to the high-quality development of the industry. Since the beginning of this year, Jiangsu has sorted out the technological shortcomings of key industries so as to have strengthened technological research and development and accelerated the deep integration of the industrial chain and innovation chain, and implemented 89 industry forward-looking technology research and development projects and 85 major scientific and technological achievement transformation projects.
The province has also launched an action to enhance the technological innovation capability of the integrated circuit industry by organizing 33 key scientific and technological research projects for key links such as EDA tools, high-end chip design, and packaging testing and implementing 27 scientific and technological research projects, including "high computing AI chips" and "ultra tough carbon fibers".
