The provincial government held a groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of branch transportation channel of the inland waterways in Huai'an City on Monday with a view to promoting the acceleration of industrial development.
Three specialized branch waterways started construction at this ceremony.
The Huai'an Mojian River Waterway Improvement Project will strongly support the development of high-end heavy equipment, new building materials, new materials, and grain and oil deep processing industries in Xuyi Port Industrial Park.
The Huai'an Industrial Park Waterway Upgrade Project will effectively ensure the transportation of raw materials and finished products for the 17 berths in the park.
The Xuzhou Fuxin River Improvement Project will significantly facilitate the inland transportation channels of Fengxian County by serving the accelerated development of Qiuzhuang Operation Area in Fengxian Port Area.
Since the beginning of this year, the transportation departments at all levels in Jiangsu have accelerated the connection of trunk waterways into a network, improved the navigation capacity of waterways, improved the efficiency of interaction between trunk and branch waterways, promoted the connection of branch waterways to industrial parks, and ensured efficient water transportation services.
From January to November 2023, Jiangsu invested 8.12 billion yuan in the construction of inland waterway routes, a year-on-year increase of 98.2%.
