East China’s Jiangsu province has stepped up the construction of major investment projects and ensured their smooth progress through every possible effort so as to fulfill goals for social and economic development set forth in this year’s government work report. JSBC has the story.

Six LNG storage tanks, which are of the largest of its kind in the world and independently developed by China, started construction in Yancheng Binhai Port Industrial Park.

The volume of each tank has reached 270000 cubic meters, and the span of single tank dome is nearly 100 meters, making it the largest single LNG tank in the world.

"The design of storage tanks achieved breakthroughs,in such technical problems as large-span dome structure, nonlinear buckling analysis, seismic and isolation design of super large storage tanks,multi-source and super long annular pre-stressed design, making the technology of these storage tanks of the world’s leading level."said Chen Tuanhei, EPC technical director of Jiangsu natural gas phase I expansion project.

When the six new storage tanks are put into operation, together with four storage tanks built in the first phase, Jiangsu Binhai LNG terminal will boast an annual LNG processing capacity of 6 million tons, making it the largest LNG reserve base in China.

Preparation for the naval vessel culture park in Gaogang District of Taizhou is coming to an end and is expected to open in July.

The park will display a supply ship, a missile destroyer, a missile frigate and a submarine by restoring the canteen, bedroom, and meeting room inside the naval ships.

Taizhou is the birthplace of China’s navy as the PLA navy was established in Baimamiao of Gaogang district on April 23, 1949.

"Visitors can have a close look at the weapons, and equipment of the combat ship, the mysterious submarine and how the integrated, ocean supply ship supplies provisions."said Mao Qingwu, an official in charge of the naval vessel culture park.
