The grand final of the 2021 Nanjing Overseas Talents Start-up Contest was held in Nanjing, East China's Jiangsu province on June 15, aiming to attract overseas entrepreneurial talents and projects to settle in the city.
A total of 30 teams competed both online and offline in overseas sites across Europe, Asia, and North America. Their projects covered leading industries like new generation information technology, artificial intelligence, and smart manufacturing.
"Nanjing is conducive to the future development of my project," said Shi Bin, whose project focused on improving the efficiency of logistics operations with smart robots and systems.
The talent policy in Nanjing has advantages in attracting talents by providing funds and sites, as well as the surrounding universities for future development, said Qiu Donghai, a project leader of the IoT healing system based on solar simulators.
This year, four teams claimed the first-place prize, six teams claimed the second-place prize, and 10 teams claimed the third-place prizes.
Established in 2012, the annual Nanjing Overseas Talents Start-up Contest has attracted more than 2,400 overseas participants from 27 countries and regions, among which 88 were included in the municipal talent plan of Nanjing.
