The dynamic blood pressure monitor used by the astronauts working in the International Space Station was developed by the Suzhou Industrial Technology Research Institute of Zhejiang University based in Suzhou New District.
The monitor is currently being used to monitor the health of Chinese astronauts Nie Haisheng, Liu Boming and Tang Hongbo of the Shenzhou XII spacecraft, which was successfully launched on June 17.
According to Ye Shuming, director of the R&D center for digital medical instrument, the monitor has completely independent intellectual property rights and is ranked first in the world in terms of accuracy of blood pressure measurement.
The monitor can analyze blood pressure and pulse data every half an hour in real time.
