Jiangsu offers trans-regional medical expense settlement for drug purchase

The cities of Nanjing and Xuzhou have taken the lead in the province to ensure trans-regional direct settlement of medical expenses for drug purchase at pharmacies by enabling the purchasers to swipe their healthcare card for payment.

The healthcare security administration at all levels in Jiangsu have taken it a matter of practical concern to make headway in the promotion of the trans-regional direct settlement of medical expenses for drug purchase at designated pharmacies.

Nanjing and Xuzhou have pioneered the reform by upgrading the information system to ensure that 20 pharmacies in each city will be able to offer trans-regional direct settlement of medical expenses for drug purchase at designated pharmacies.

We will make further efforts in the promotion of the trans-regional direct settlement of medical expenses for drug purchase at designated pharmacies, to ensure that all the prefecture-level cities will be networked at the end of November.

Jiangsu started in 2016 to promote the trans-provincial direct settlement of medical expenses at hospitals by networking with 5254 hospitals in 29 provinces.
