Jiangsu accelerates construction of major water conservancy projects
East China’s Jiangsu province has accelerated the construction of key water conservancy projects since the beginning of the Chinese New Year so as to cash in on the golden period of water conservancy construction in winter and spring.
At the site of the second section of the Hongze Lake flood detention area construction project, dozens of workers accelerated the construction amid roaring machines and shuttling vehicles.
In order to ensure the rapid resumption of the project as scheduled, the local water conservancy bureau arranged during the Spring Festival holiday the workers, materials and machines needed for the project construction, and scientifically formulated the implementation plan to ensure the construction to proceed as scheduled.

Our project is one of the 172 national key water-saving projects. The investment in Huaiyin District has reached 344 million yuan. At present, 50% of the overall investment has been completed, and it is expected to be basically completed by the end of this year.
The renovation of Caoyan Fanshui Station is a provincial key water conservancy project, which will bring into play the comprehensive benefits of flood control, drainage, irrigation and navigation, and benefit up to 650 square kilometers.
The project construction team has chartered buses to transport nearly 100 workers to return to work in order to ensure the scheduled progress of the project.

In the next step, we will ensure that the project will be constructed in accordance with the scheduled time through careful organization and scientific arrangement, so as to ensure that the underwater project will be completed before the 2023 flood season and play the role of flood control and drainage.
In 2023, Jiangsu will invest more than 18 billion yuan in key water conservancy projects and more than 8 billion yuan in rural water conservancy projects with focus to be laid on the construction of the national water network backbone projects including the second phase of the Huaihe River estuary and the repair of the Jiangsu section of the Wusong River so as to accelerate the construction of the modern water network in Jiangsu.
