Changzhou strengthen protection of birds
In recent years, various regions in Jiangsu have actively explored the harmonious coexistence between humans and birds in a bid to create a new landscape where all things coexist.
White egrets and gray egrets, national second-class protected animals, have been inhabiting and breeding in a bird paradise in Luoyang Town, Wujin District, Changzhou. Surprisingly, this habitat is located in an industrial-intensive area.
"This piece of land is industrial-intensive, so the land use value is quite high. It is really not easy for enterprises to preserve about ten mu of bird habitats within their own factory area," said Jiang Yi, Deputy Director of Luoyang Town Economic Development Bureau, Wujin District, Changzhou.
There are over 200 enterprises in Luoyang Town Industrial Park. Changzhou Great Wall Refrigeration Equipment Co., Ltd. covers an area of over 40 mu with some of the land planted with trees.
By sheer chance, Chen Weilin, the company's CEO, rescued a white egret and released it into the woods in the factory, which in turn attracted more white egrets, so she decided to preserve this forest land.
"These birds come here on time every day, which is a bit magical. A large flock fly in and circle here to make an incredibly beautiful scene," said Chen Weilin, CEO of Changzhou Changcheng Refrigeration Equipment Co., Ltd.
Luoyang Town in Wujin District often ranks among the top in the performance evaluation of ecological clean watersheds in Jiangsu. The people here take practical actions to protect the ecological environment, while birds use their wings to vividly interpret the concept of harmonious coexistence between humans and nature.
