Jiangsu reports shopping frenzy on New Year’s Day
East China’s Jiangsu province reported a shopping frenzy on the New Year’s Day to indicate vibrant consumption and new scenarios.
The Water Amusement Plaza in Nanjing created the Dragon Year Fountain Lantern Group and prepared a performance, which has led to a strong popularity of nearby restaurants, and everyone is enjoying the taste of happiness in its harmonious atmosphere.
As the first commercial complex in Nanjing with water as its theme, Nanjing Water Amusement Plaza has gathered nearly a hundred catering brands and fully integrated traditional performing arts with new consumer formats. Through various forms such as performances, flash mobs, and themed exhibitions, it has created a circle of IPs, forming a multi-functional and ideal tourist destination that integrates art, commerce, interaction, and experience.
“During the three-day holiday on New Year's Day, we recorded three times the passenger flow compared with last year. The entire sales have recovered to the same level as the same period in 2019, with a 30% growth,” said Zhang Zijue, General Manager of Nanjing Water Amusement Plaza Co., Ltd.
During the New Year holiday, 138 commercial enterprises in Nanjing recorded sales of 1.8 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 34.9%. Supermarkets and restaurants recorded 4.766 million customers, a year-on-year increase of 58.0%.
The promotional discount activities launched by shopping malls have added fuel to the consumer market.
The shopping festival was launched in Changzhou, stimulating the first round of coupon buying frenzy.
The major shopping malls in Suqian city offered various promotional sales. In Yancheng, various forms of promotional activities attracted a steady stream of customers.
