China's Summit on the Promotion of Rural Revitalization via E-Commerce was held in Shuyang County over the weekend. More than 1,700 experts, scholars, and practitioners from the Development Research Center of the State Council, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, Zhejiang University, and all over the country gathered to exchange ideas on the promotion of rural e-commerce.
Experts and scholars put forth constructive ideas for the country’s promotion of rural e-commerce by combining their respective research fields, and delivering keynote speeches on topics such as the Eight Issues that Should be Emphasized in the Implementation of Rural Revitalization Strategy and Digital Economy to Boost Rural Revitalization.
Shuyang is one of the five Taobao village clusters and the only agricultural Taobao village cluster in the country. Compared with other Taobao Village clusters in the country, the country boasts such distinctive features as Internet + Agriculture, Countryside, and Farmers.
At present, Shuyang County has more than 40,000 online stores and 41 Taobao Villages. On average, there are 3.85 express deliveries per second from Shuyang to the rest of the world, which helps to employ 250,000 local people.
According to statistics, from January to May this year, Shuyang County reported approximately 10.5 billion yuan of e-commerce transaction volume, of which agricultural product network sales accounted for approximately 58% of the total online sales.
