East China’s Jiangsu province has unveiled its sports development plan for the "14th Five-Year Plan" period.
To promote the higher-quality development of Jiangsu sports, a series of goals and tasks have been formulated.
The sports development goal formulated by Jiangsu for the 14th Five-Year Plan period is 3.6 square meters of sports area per capita, and 3.6 social sports instructors per 1,000 people.
More than 43% of people will regularly participate in physical exercises, and 93.8% of urban and rural residents will meet the "National Fitness Standards".
Jiangsu will generally improve adolescents' health literacy, motor skills, and physical fitness, master one or two sports skills, and more than 95% of students will pass the physical fitness test.
During the "14th Five-Year Plan" period, Jiangsu will report over 720 billion yuan in the province’s sports industry, with added value accounting for more than 2% of the province’s regional GDP, and the added value of the sports service sector accounting for more than 70% of the added value of the entire sports industry.
