The finals of the 5th Youth College Student Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition in Nanjing Jiangbei New District was held on Wednesday afternoon. 10 projects were awarded cash prizes respectively, and 3 winning projects signed contracts to settle in Jiangbei New Area.
This competition has collected 719 entries from 36 universities in the fields of integrated circuits, biomedicine, new materials, and service industries.
The competition produced 1 first prize project, 3 second prize projects, and 6 third prize projects. Three award-winning projects were signed to settle in Jiangbei New Area.
The all-fiber single-photon lidar project won the first prize of the competition. The system can realize remote sensing of carbon dioxide concentration in every street in the city, which fills the gap of detection scale between point-based instruments and satellites, and can serve ecology, environmental protection, fire protection and Meteorology and other industries.
The R&D and industrialization projects of high-performance optical films won the Excellence Award. This project is applied to the customized coating of optical instruments such as filters and mirrors for scientific research institutes and automobile enterprises.
"We have settled in the Intelligent Manufacturing Industrial Park of Jiangbei New Area, which has provided a lot of support for the manufacturing industry and great support for startups like ours. There are a lot of manufacturing partners," said Zhang Zhen, Nanjing Taiaixin Technology Co., Ltd.
"We chose to open a company in Nanjing because we feel that Nanjing has a relatively high level of economic development and the government provides various policy and financial support, so we registered and established a company in Nanjing Jiangbei New Area and started industrialized operations," said Guo Xin, Nanjing Keting Optoelectronics Technology Co., Ltd.
In this year's competition, in addition to the prize money, the winning projects will also receive a 1:1 matching reward for project landing in Jiangbei New Area.
