Xin Changxing, Secretary of the Jiangsu Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China, met Monday in Nanjing with Olenbayev, President of the Supreme Assembly of the Karakalpakstan Autonomous Republic of Uzbekistan.
Xin Changxing, on behalf of the Jiangsu Provincial Party Committee and Government, welcomed Olenbayev's visit to Jiangsu.
He said that China and Uzbekistan are ancient civilizations, and the great Silk Road has witnessed over two thousand years of friendly exchanges between the two peoples.
Jiangsu is the eastern bridgehead of the new Eurasian Continental Bridge and lies at the intersection of "the Belt and Road", making it strong complementarity and broad cooperation space with Uzbekistan in many fields.
After extending his welcome to the Karakalpakstan Parliament's first visit to Jiangsu for the creation of a new opportunity for the two sides to deepen cooperation, Xin Changxing hoped that the two sides would jointly implement the important consensus reached by the leaders of China and Uzbekistan, deepen economic and trade exchanges, China-Europe freight trains, modern agriculture, new energy and people to people and cultural exchanges and cooperation, and promote the joint construction of the Belt and Road into a new stage of high-quality development with more fruitful results and make new contributions to the development of China-Uzbekistan's comprehensive strategic partnership.
Olenbayev said that Jiangsu is a major economic powerhouse in China, with commendable development achievements and many experiences worth learning from. Karakalpakstan is vigorously improving its infrastructure and optimizing its business environment, thereby welcoming more Jiangsu enterprises to invest and seek development in Karakalpakstan so as to further deepen the exchanges and cooperation with Jiangsu in various fields.
