Construction on the high-speed railway between Yancheng and Nantong has got the go-ahead from the national commission for development and reform, the country’s top economic planner. According to the feasibility report on the construction of the Yancheng-Nantong high-speed railway, the high-speed rail will start from the railway station in Yancheng to connect with the Nantong West Railway Station, the northern terminal of the Shanghai-Nantong high-speed railway that is being constructed. Six stations will be built along the 156.6-km Yancheng-Nantong high-speed railway which is designed with an hourly speed of 350 kilometers. Construction is scheduled for operation in December and completion in November 2020. The bullet train running on the high-speed rail will send passengers from Yancheng to Shanghai in less than one hour.
