The special railway of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Lianyungang International Logistics Park is an important part of the SCO Logistics Park and Lianyungang Port Collection and Distribution System. In 2017, with the stepped-up construction of the special railway lines, 500 million yuan was invested on the project that is scheduled for completion by 2018.
The construction of special railway projects involves varied types of projects such as super-large bridges, ordinary bridges, tunnels, as well as buildings across the river, which poses difficulty for the progress of the construction.

At present, the soft foundation treatment is being caried out in the segments of the project at Central Yuntaishan Tunnel, Shaoxiang River Super Bridge and Boyan River Bridge.
The special railway of the SCO Lianyungang International Logistics Park is composed of the logistics park branch and the transport zone branch with the phase I project dedicated to the construction of the logistics park branch.
The logistics park branch is 13.95 km long with a total investment of 1.182 billion yuan. It is scheduled for completion in December 2018 with the freight volume expected to hit 12.9 million tons per year by 2025.
